STEP 9: After reaching the top of the ladder immediately attach yourself to the tree 

with your full-body fall arrest tether to the tree trunk as shown in Figure 38. Now you 

can place the ratchet strap around the tree hooking one end to the left side of the tree 

blade and the other end to the right side of the tree blade and ratchet tight as shown in 

Figure 39. Ratchet threading instructions may be found in Figure 40. NOTE: Do not put 

any of your weight on the seat until the seat assembly ratchet strap has been secured.

WARNING! DO NOT place more than fifteen (15) pounds (7 kg) of weight on the footrest, 

shooting rail or seat back. DO NOT attempt to use any of these as a handhold or to pull 
yourself up into or lower yourself while exiting the treestand. Doing so will result in an 
unsafe condition. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or death!

WARNING! When climbing, always maintain three points of contact as you ascend 

(climb  up)  and  while  descending  (climb  down).  Failure  to  maintain  three  points  of 

contact puts the user at serious risk of bodily injury. Failure to follow these instructions 

will result in serious injury or death!

WARNING! As you approach the top of the ladder, attach your full-body fall arrest harness 

tether to the tree trunk as soon as possible. After your tether has been attached to the tree, 

attach the ratchet straps to secure the top of the stand to the tree. Failure to follow these 

instructions will result in serious injury or death!

WARNING!  When climbing, always maintain three points of contact as you ascend (climb up) and while descending 

(climb down). Failure to maintain three points of contact puts the user at serious risk of bodily injury. Failure to follow 

these instructions will result in serious injury or death!

WARNING!  When climbing to remove the ratchet straps, it is important to lean forward when climbing to keep the stand 

centered and secure to the tree trunk. DO NOT lean backwards when climbing! Failure to follow these instructions will 

result in serious injury or death!

REMOVING OL-11-00 LADDERSTAND

WARNING! As you approach the top of the ladder, attach your full-body fall arrest harness tether to the tree trunk as soon as 

possible. After your tether has been attached to the tree, remove the ratchet strap. Failure to follow these instructions will result 

in serious injury or death! 

STEP 1: With the help of two (2) other adults (refer to Figure 35) at the base of the ladder stand holding it steady, climb to a height 

which allows you to safely attach your full-body fall arrest harness tether to the tree trunk as soon as possible. After your tether has 

been attached to the tree trunk, disconnect the ratchet strap which secures the tree blade.

STEP 2: Disconnect your tether and climb back down to the ground. Remove the stabilizer straps and disconnect the tree brace as-

sembly. With the help of two (2) other adults, gently lower the treestand to the ground.
