Suction Power (S 3xx)
If the suction power is too low, the following should be carried out:
1. Set the power level to the highest setting.
2. Compare suction with and without the hose connected.
3. Check the hose, suction tube and attachment for blockages.
4. Check the dustbag is not caught between the casing pieces.
5. Check the motor protection filter and the exhaust filter.
6. Check that the seals in the motor compartment and at the exhaust filter are
seated correctly and undamaged.
6.8
Motor Does Not Operate (S 345i and S 445i)
Fault:
When the brushes are worn out, the appliance cannot be switched on.
Possible cause:
When the appliance is switched on, gate 1 on triac D1 is activated.
D1 becomes conductive.
Voltage is now applied to winding L1. As the brushes are worn, the voltage is
not applied to the motor but, via the mid tapping of L1, to “Control” on the
EDW 445 control module.
If the gate of D1 is activated and at the same time voltage is applied to the
“Control” measuring point, the electronic control module switches the
appliance off; see the wiring diagram.
Remedy:
Replace the brushes.
