How the burners work

Standard burners have one heating
band, and variable burners and
casserole areas have two heating
bands. Depending on the model, the
heating bands may be separated by a
ring.
Each burner features overheat
protection (internal temperature limiter),
which prevents the ceramic surface
from overheating (see "Overheat
protection").
When a power level is set, heating is
activated and the heating band is
visible through the ceramic surface. The
heat output of the burners depends on
the power level set and is controlled
electronically. This causes the "cycling"
of a burner: the heating is turned on
and off.
