Fabrics
– Wash fabrics which will be worn
directly against the skin, e.g.
underwear, baby clothes, socks etc.,
at a temperature of at least 60°C or
the maximum temperature indicated
on the garment care label.
Germs and household dust mites are
killed at a temperature of 60°C.
The
programmes have a
longer temperature holding time in
the main wash.
– When buying garments, check that
they can be washed at a temperature
of 60°C.
– Wash new garments before wearing
them for the first time.
The
First wash
programme will
remove any chemical residues from
new garments.
Textiles which tend to run should be
washed separately. You may wish to
wash them several times before
wearing them for the first time.
– Pillows
Use the
Pillows
programme to
remove household dust mites from
pillows.
– Pillow and mattress covers should be
washed regularly, at least every 3
months.
Detergent
– Use detergents without added
fragrance.
– We recommend using detergents
which have been specially designed
for those with sensitive skins or
allergies.
– Detergent components will vary
depending on the manufacturer so it
may be a good idea to try out several
makes of detergent to find the one
which suits you best.
Number of rinses
– The wash programmes are designed
to rinse garments very effectively.
– Pressing the
Rinse plus
button,
introduces a fourth rinse in the
H
,
Cottons Universal
and
Minimum iron
programmes.
– You can also programme the
washing machine (using the
programmable functions) so that a
fourth rinse is introduced in the
H
and
Cottons Universal
programmes as standard.
If a fourth rinse has been
programmed into the washing
machine, then pressing the
Rinse
plus
additional option button will
introduce a fifth rinse.
