If the driver is has not been pre-installed on the PC, follow the steps below to install the 
driver via the Windows Update site (Shown for SEC1110 under Windows XP OS). 

• Connect the reader to a free USB port on the PC.
• Once the smartcard reader is connected, Window reports that new hardware has 

been detected and will offer to connect to Windows Update to search for a suit-
able driver.

• Choose 

Recommended Option

 and click 

Next

 to continue.

• Choose 

"Yes, Connect and search for software on the Internet"

 and click 

Next.
