Adding a Wooden Deck
Anbringen eines Decks aus echtem Holz
Using thin wood sheets (recommended product see below), the deck can be made to look much
nicer. However, this requires expertise and tools. Make sure you consider this well before you
take on this step. If you feel uncertain, the aft deck can also be painted in a dark wooden color
(and possibly be aged) to look accordingly.
If you decide to use a thin wooden sheet, cut it to shape carefully, and transfer the holes for the
cargo rail and for the rope guide. With my prototype, I added a sheet of cedar wood and added
the black lines with a thin marker. All wooden parts were then made waterproof using varnish.
Mit Hilfe von dünnem Furnierpapier kann ein hölzernes Deck nachgebaut werden. Der Bausatz ist
hierfür allerdings nicht vorbereitet, so dass zusätzliches Werkzeug und eine gewisse Expertise
notwendig sind. Sollten Sie das Deck nicht aus Holz bauen wollen, so kann mittels eines dunklen
Brauntons das hintere Deck auch entsprechend lackiert werden.
Falls Sie sich für ein Holzdeck entscheiden, sollte das Deck vorsichtig auf Maß angepasst werden;
die Bohrungen für die Cargo Rails und für die Seilführung müssen zudem übertragen werden. Für
meinen Prototypen habe ich ein dünnes Blatt Zedernholz genutzt; die Leisten wurden mit einem
schwarzen Stift aufgemalt, im Anschluss wurde alles mittels Klarlack fixiert.
