8.3
Electrical connection procedure
The MG Energy monitor has several connections each for a dedicated purpose. Refer to chapter 0 for
information about the available connections.
8.3.1
CAN-bus connection procedure
The display needs to be connected to the BMS CAN-bus of the battery system, please refer to the
blue rectangles in Figure 8 and Figure 9 for what connectors to use on the different MG Master
devices. This can either be RJ45 or M12 connectors. See chapter 11 for cables and adaptor cables
information.

Preferably an Energy Monitor is at the end of a daisy chain closest to the master used, see Figure 10.
When the Energy Monitor is at the end of a chain a termination resistor should be connected at the
available M12 connector. There should always be two termination resistors on a CAN-bus system, in
the case of the Master HV an termination resistor is already installed internally on the port that
should be used for the Energy Monitor.
