• After repeated flashing, do not touch the diffuser.
Risk of burns!
• After a series of flashes with full power and short
intervals, a pause of at least 3 minutes must be obser-
ved after each series of 20 flashes!
• When you activate the flash, there should be no opa-
que material directly in front of or on the reflector
cover (flash window). The intense energy emissions
can otherwise lead to scorching or spotting of the
material and/or the reflector cover. Do not dismantle
the flash unit! HIGH VOLTAGE!
Repairs should only be performed by authorised ser-
vice personnel.
• Do not touch the electrical contacts of the flash unit.
• If the housing has been damaged in such a way that
internal components are exposed, the flash unit may
no longer be used. Remove the batteries! Do not
touch any internal components. HIGH VOLTAGE!
• Do not use any toxic batteries or rechargeable batte-
ries!
• Do not dispose of used/flat batteries in a fire.
2 Dedicated flash functions
The dedicated flash functions are specially adapted to
the flash functions of the camera system. Different flash
functions are supported depending on camera type.
2.1 Break down of camera groups
According to their dedicated flash functions, Nikon
cameras can be broken down into the following groups:
Group A
cameras
Cameras with digital flash unit data transfer
e.g. Nikon F4, F4s, F801, F801s
Group B
cameras
Cameras with digital flash unit data transfer and 3D
multi-sensor fill-in flash mode
e.g. Nikon F5, F100, F80, F70
Group C
cameras
Digital Nikon SLR cameras with i-TTL flash mode
(CLS compatible cameras)
e.g.. D40, D50, D70, D70S, D80, D90, D200, D300,
D2Hs, F6, D2x, D3, Coolpix 8400, 8800, D3000,
D5000
