4.2.2 Differential method
The sum of currents through two or more active (embraced) conductors is
measured in the differential method. If no current is leaking into PE
conductors/ earth the sum of currents through active conductors must be
exactly zero regardless of the load currents. If a leakage current flows it is
of the same size as the measured sum between active conductors
measured with the clamp.
Note
Note that the direction of currents in the conductors must be considered if
the differential method is used.
