equipped with a factory supply, control or fuel feeder system (for automatic boilers) in a
closed type installation, provided that a safety valve, diaphragm vessel, control and
measurement fittings (pressure gauge, thermometer, etc.) are installed, and that the
requirements for boiler operation are met, in particular the recommended operating
temperature of 45-
75°C, maximum permitted temperature of 85°C, maximum permitted
operating pressure 1.5 bar.
5.1 The most important requirements for the protection of open-system central heating
installations are
●
open-system collective vessel with a capacity of min 4% - 7% of the total volume of central
heating installation;
●
safety pipe with a diameter depending on the heat output of the boiler,
●
Collecting, signalling, bypassing and venting pipe, as well as circulation pipe to maintain the
right temperature in the vessel. Valves and slides are not allowed on safety pipes, this pipe
should be free of constrictions and sharp bends along its entire length. The way of leading
safety pipes to the overflow reservoir of c. o installation as well as their diameter should be in
accordance with PN91/B-02413
.
An example of the correct arrangement of devices in the c. o. system and the connection of system
components is shown in the following figure.
