4. Raise the sterndrive unit two or three times to bleed air out of
the system. The fluid level may drop. Add more fluid if
necessary, but do not overfill past the MAX level mark.
5. Replace the fill cap.

1. Remove the level indication (middle) pipe plug from the input
shaft housing. The gear lubricant level should be to the bottom
of the hole. If not, remove the pipe plug from the top of the input
shaft housing.
2. Fill the input shaft housing through the top pipe plug hole with
fluid until gear lubricant flows from the middle pipe plug hole (do
not overfill).
3. Install the pipe plugs into the input shaft housing and tighten
securely.

1. Remove the upper vent plug from the gearcase. The gear
lubricant level should be to the bottom of the vent plug hole with
the propeller shaft level.
2. If gear lubricant level is low, add fluid until gear lubricant comes
out of the vent plug opening.
