Always ensure that the seat and seat back‐
rest are engaged, especially:
R
before passengers travel on a seat with
the easy entry and exit feature.
R
after adjusting the seat.
R
after the easy entry and exit feature is
used.
R
after the cargo compartment enlarge‐
ment has been folded down.
Always ensure that all vehicle occupants have
their seat belts fastened correctly and are sitting
properly. Particular attention must be paid to
children.
If you no longer require the folded-down rear
seat backrest as a loading area, fold the rear
seat backrest back into place.
Make sure that the red marking of the lock verifi‐
cation indicator is no longer visible. Otherwise,
the seat backrest is not locked.
Depending on the vehicle equipment, a message
is displayed on the instrument cluster instead of
the red lock verification indicator.
Folding the rear seats forwards mechanically
% Depending on the vehicle equipment, the
outer rear seat backrests can be folded for‐
wards mechanically.

Move the driver's or front passenger seat for‐
wards, if necessary.

To fold the left and right rear seat backr‐
ests forwards: if necessary, insert the seat
backrest head restraints (

page 105).

Pull release lever 1 .
#
Fold the corresponding rear seat backrest
forwards.
#
To fold the center seat backrest for‐
wards: press release catch 3 .
