Fuel System
Bleeding th e Fuel System
A com pletely bled fuel system is
im perative fo r perfect engine oper-
I
ation. During operation, the system
is co ntinuously bled via the over
flo w line.
The entire system m ust be bled
when the car has been driven until
the fuel tank w as com pletely
emptied.
C hecking Fuels
Coolants
Lubricants etc.
A fte r refueling, start the engine,
engaging the starter fo r about
20 seconds until all the trapped air
has been evacuated.
W ith a poorly charged battery the
system m ust be bled manually.
Operate the prim er pum p until the
injection pum p overflow valve
opens (rattling noise audible).
Disengage prim er pum p handle
prior to operating it (turn co un ter
clockw ise). R etighten after use.
Engine Oil Level C heck
Check engine oil level at regular
intervals, e.g. after refueling, w ith
the engine at operating tem pera
ture and shut o ff.

Dipstick

Pour in engine oil
The vehicle should be parked on
level ground and the oil level m ust
be som ewhere between the low er
and the upper mark on dipstick (1);
do not replenish in excess o f the
upper mark.
