Noiseless start operation is dependent on the
outside temperature and the operating tem-
perature of the internal combustion engine.
If the hybrid system has been started, the
green or yellow READY indicator : lights up
in the multifunction display. For further infor-

Pulling away

Depress the brake pedal and keep it
depressed.

Shift the transmission to position D or R.

If the Apply brake to deselect Park Apply brake to deselect Park
(P) (P) position position display message appears in
the multifunction display, depress the
brake pedal more firmly and select the
desired transmission position.

Release the brake pedal.

Manual drive program M
In addition to automatic drive programs E and
S, you can switch to manual drive program
M using the steering wheel gearshift paddles.
In manual drive program M, you can briefly
change gear yourself by using the steering
wheel gearshift paddles. The transmission
must be in position D. Electric-only operation
is not possible in manual drive program M.
Activating when driving with the electric
motor:

Pull the left-hand steering wheel gearshift
paddle (

page 205).
The combustion engine is switched on.
Manual drive program M is temporarily acti-
vated. The selected gear and M appear in
the multifunction display.

Pulling on the right-hand steering wheel
gearshift paddle when drive program M is
not active switches to overrun mode
