7. Manual air volume

Nine manual blower speed steps 
are available

Tip: Air recirculation will
remain activated only for 5 
minutes if outside temperature
is less than 40°F and for 30 
minutes if outside temperature
is greater than 40°F

10. Rear window defroster

Press

on/off; shuts off

automatically after 12 minutes

11. Economy mode

Provides automatic operation 
except air conditioning compressor 
is shut off; use to save fuel 
or when only fresh, uncooled 
air is desired
To turn compressor off/on: Press
(11)/press again

8. Windshield defrost

Press for automatic defrost; provides
dry, heated air to windshield

Tip: Make sure all vents are
open and side vent air flow is
directed toward side windows
with tabs (5)

Window defogging

Make sure system is not in recirculated
air mode (red light next to switch (9) 
is not illuminated), then press
button (1), press manual air distribution
button (14) until air is directed
upward, move tabs (5) on outboard
vents (4) to direct air toward side 
windows and rotate thumbwheels 
(2) fully up 

9. Air recirculation

Prevents most dust and 
odors from entering vehicle

12. Residual heating

Allows heating the interior after 
the engine has been shut off
To activate: Ignition key must be
OFF, then press
To deactivate: Press

deactivated if ignition key turned ON
System automatically shuts off
after 30 minutes or if battery 
voltage drops to 11 volts

Cold weather

Fresh air is passed through the 
heater core, a comfort feature 
when an occupant is waiting 
in a parked car or to keep the 
interior warm for your return after 
a short stop

Warm weather

Fresh air is circulated to help reduce
temperature buildup inside the car
