4.  Place the contoured spacer (2) slanting

backwards onto the grommet (6) in the roof

(Figure 20).

5.  Screw the hex-nut (3) up to the bolt collar (4)

and insert the bolt through the contoured

spacer (Figure 20).

6.  Screw and hand-tighten the bolt into the

factory-installed base.

7.  Tighten, making sure not to over-tighten, the

hex-nut (3) onto the contoured spacer

(Figure 20).

8.  Place the top cap (5) over the whip and allow

the inner portion of the cap to fit into the

contoured spacer grove. Press firmly down

on the cap until it snaps into place (Figure

20).

1.  Reinstall the climate control module and MCS (radio) unit.

2.  Program the telephone per S-SI-82.70/124, 

StarTAC Portable Telephone Programming

.

3.  Verify proper telephone operation per the following checklist:

G

 

Handset incoming/outgoing call audio is clear

G

 

Hands-free incoming/outgoing call audio is clear

Automatic memory download is functioning (In order for this feature to operate, it may be

necessary to store a test number in the telephone handset; stored numbers should be available

for dialing from the head unit after automatic download.)
