Insert screwdriver between drive belt
and large drive wheel. Rotate the drive
wheel, while at the same time levering
off the drive belt.
Wrap new drive belt round the small
drive wheel so that the ridges on the
drive belt engage in the grooves in the
drive wheel.
Rotate the large drive wheel, while at the
same time slipping the drive belt onto it.
Replace cover and fasten with two bolts.
Replace carbon brushes
If carbon brushes are worn, the motor
will run unevenly, stop or start sluggishly.
The carbon brushes must be replaced
by approved specialists only.
Replacement carbon brushes are
included in the electric planer delivery.
Fault tracing and repair
• Electric planer will not start? Check
supply socket and associated mains
fuses. Ensure correct mains voltage
(see „Technical Data“). or: Have
carbon brushes checked by approved
specialists.
• The planed surfaces are rough,
uneven or slanted? The blades are
dull, misaligned or incorrectly
adjusted (see „Changing blades“).
• The motor slows down considerably
during planing? The feed rate is too
high. Reduce feed rate!
• The planed surfaces are dark
coloured? The blades get hot. Allow
to cool down and continue work, but
use less pressure when feeding
forward!
• The cutter shaft slows down when it
comes into contact with the wood,
while the motor continues running at
full speed? The drive belt is slipping
(see „Replacing drive belt“).
• The cutter shaft does not rotate,
although the motor is running? The
drive belt has broken (see „Replacing
drive belt“).
• The motor runs unevenly, stops or
starts sluggishly? Have carbon
brushes replaced by approved
specialists.
• The electric planer gets very hot?
Build-up of shavings in collecting
bag. Empty and remove shavings
from socket (see „Emptying collecting
bag“)! or: Critical continuous
operation under full load. Stop work
and allow router to cool down!
