Health and safety risks
• Incorrect use of the appliance can result in fatal injury.
• Only use the appliance outdoors. Never use the appliance in a garage or the
like where petrol or other flammable goods are stored.
• Never use the appliance in the vicinity of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
• Never direct the hot air jet towards flammable goods or objects, such as
cylinders. Keep the appliance away from sources of ignition. Do not smoke. The
appliance must be stored out of the reach of children when not in use.
Risk of material damage
• Incorrect use of the appliance can result in a risk of material damage.
• Do not expose the appliance to long-term sunlight or frost.
• Dry wood, leaves, needles and dry grass can cause a fire. Therefore, always
check the plants being treated one more time after completing the treatment.
The treatment may have caused a smouldering fire, which in time, can flare up
and burn uncontrollably.
• Extinguish with a fire extinguisher, if it can be done without a risk to your
personal safety.
Use
• Incorrect use of the appliance can result in fatal injury.
• Only use the appliance outdoors.
• Make sure that the air intake opening is never covered or blocked.
• Make sure that the air outlet through the nozzle is not blocked or obstructed
and that the nozzle has not been turned out of position so that the hot air jet
does not have a free path.
• Never direct the hot air jet towards the cord or towards flammable or
explosive substances.
Miscellaneous
• Do not hold the hot air jet directed towards the same point for a long time (30
seconds treatment, 10 seconds break for cooling).
• Heat can be lead on to combustible materials that are covered or otherwise
out of sight.
• Carry the appliance by the handles - do not touch the heat shield and nozzle
before they have completely cooled.
