OPERATION
Assembly
The sanding table and motor housing are not assembled on delivery.
1.
Fit the sanding plate on the shaft, and screw on with the supplied screws.
2.
Fit the rod in the hole on the sanding table, and tighten.
3.
Place a square block against the sanding plate and move up the sanding table at an angle of 90° in
relation to the disc. Lock the sanding table in this position with the supplied screws.
4.
Fit the angle stop. The angle stop can now show all positions up to an angle of 45°.
Sanding direction
The sanding belt should run anticlockwise when standing in front of the belt sander. This enables the
sanding belt to pull the workpiece in against the sanding support, which produces the best sanding
results. The sanding belt is only intended to be run in one direction and can get ripped if run in the wrong
direction. For this reason, make sure to follow the arrow markings on the back of the sanding belt when
fitting it on the machine. If there are no arrows, fit the sanding belt so that the top part of the joint points
forward.
Sandpaper
The belt sander can use standard sandpaper or polishing paper with a diameter of 6". We recommend
using sandpaper of grade 80 for general sanding, grade 50 for rough sanding, and grade 120 for fine
sanding. Fasten the sandpaper on the sanding plate with normal glue, or use self-adhesive discs.
Sanding belt
The belt sander can use standard sanding belts sized 4"x 36". We recommend using medium grade
sanding belts for general sanding, coarse sanding belts for rough sanding and fine sanding belts for fine
sanding.
