• Risk of fall injury. Be careful when working
on unstable surfaces. Watch out for
obstructions in the work area. Always
maintain a firm footing and good balance.
Wear non-slip shoes.
• Ejected objects can cause serious personal
injury. Keep children, onlookers and pets
away from the work area. Wear appropriate
safety clothing, safety glasses and ear
protection.
• Never allow anyone who has not read and
understood these instructions to use, adjust
or repair the machine. Follow all the safety
and warning labels on the machine.
• The machine must not be used by persons
under 18. Persons over 16 may use it under
supervision as part of their training.
• Keep the work area clean and well lit.
• Store the machine out of the reach of
children and unauthorised persons.
• Stay alert. Pay attention to what you are
doing, and use your common sense when
working with the machine.
• Never use the machine when you are tired,
or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or
medication.
• Never interrupt someone who is working
with the machine.
• Do not use the machine in explosive
environments, such as in the vicinity of
flammable liquids, gases or dust.
• Switch off the machine and wait until all
moving parts have completely stopped
before making adjustments, maintenance
and/or cleaning.
• Qualified personnel must carry out repairs.
• Replace all safety devices and guards after
repairs and/or maintenance.
• Check that all safety devices are correctly
fitted and working, that moving parts are
working properly, and that no parts are
damaged before using the machine.

can result in personal injury and/or
material damage.
Safety instructions for fuel driven
machines
• Read all the instructions and safety
instructions and all the warning labels on
the machine concerning the refuelling and
use of combustion engines. Failure to
follow all the instructions and safety
instructions can result in a risk of death,
fire, serious personal injury and/or material
damage.
• Never use the machine in an enclosed area
without adequate ventilation. Exhaust
fumes from the engine contain carbon
monoxide, an odourless and highly
dangerous gas. Inhalation of carbon
monoxide can cause headaches,
drowsiness, nausea, dizziness, confusion
and eventually death.
• Do not use the machine near sources of
heat, including lighted cigarettes, naked
flames, hot objects, and electrical sparks,
etc.
• Do not smoke in the work area or when
refuelling. Petrol is highly flammable and
can in some circumstances be explosive.
• Avoid spilling fuel when refilling.
• Replace the filler cap properly after
refuelling.
• Do not fill up with fuel when the engine is
running or hot.
• Never fill up with fuel near naked flames or
other sources of heat.
• Do not touch the spark plug cap or spark
plug when the engine is running – risk of
electric shock.
• Switch off the engine, release the cap from
the spark plug, and wait until the machine
has cooled before repairs, maintenance
and/or cleaning.
• Never use petrol or flammable solvents to
clean the machine – risk of fire and/or
explosion.
