3 Getting Started

3.1
Inserting / removing
batteries
1.
The block battery supplied must first be inserted in the battery compart-
ment before the unit can be used for the first time.
2.
Check that the unit is switched off. Turn both intensity controllers,
and
, anti-clockwise to the
OFF
position.
3.
Open the battery compartment
by pushing the keypad cover
downwards. At the same time press down with the thumb on the area
of the cover identified with raised dots.
4.
Insert the battery in the base of the battery compartment taking care to
match up the symbols (
+
/
-
). Thread the textile strip under the battery;
this will make it easier to remove the battery the next time it needs re-
placing.
5.
Close the battery compartment by placing the cover on the lateral
guides and sliding it upwards with slight pressure of the thumb on the
area marked.
6.
Follow the same procedure when replacing the battery at a later date.
Always use only 9 V block batteries of type 6LR61.
BATTERY SAFETY INFORMATION
• Keep away from children.
• Do not recharge.
• Do not short-circuit.
• Do not throw into fire.
• Do not dispose of old batteries with your household waste,
but dispose of them at a battery collection station at a
recycling site or in a shop.
1.
Lay the belt
flat on a table with the electrode side upwards so that
the four pad markings are visible.
2.
Lay out the electrode pads
and
and the pushbutton connectors
and
with their connection cables.
3.
The unit is supplied with 4 (2 x 2) self-adhesive pads on a backing or
protective film which correspond in size to the markings on the belt.
Use scissors to cut carefully between the two pads on the film marked
“
on
” without separating the pads from the film. There will now be four
pads in front of you.
4.
Remove the two-part protective films from the sides of pads
and
with a criss-cross pattern by pulling the films off carefully from the
inside outwards. Leave the films marked “
on
” on the pads.
5.
Position the pads
and
with the criss-cross patterned side down,
centrally on the markings on the belt. Press the pads down firmly onto
the belt.
WARNING
Only use the belt when all four pads are attached to the
electrodes to prevent unpleasant electric shocks.

Preparing the belt

the areas marked.
