Partitioning the drive
Partitioning a drive divides the space into different areas that can be
accessed as separate logical drives (with letters C:, D:, E:, etc.). Read
your PC operating system manual to find out how to partition hard
drives.
Formatting the drive
In order to remove data from the hard disk, the partitions must be
formatted.
Caution!
You must be totally certain about the drive letter to enter,
so that you do not format a drive that contains data you
wish to keep.
You can carry out the formatting using Windows® Explorer (right
click on the drive and select Format).
