3.2. OUTDOOR UNIT  

(only suitable for surface mounting)

Step 1:  Find a suitable location for the outdoor speaking unit.
Step 2:  Drill the mounting holes with a diameter of 6mm into  

 

 

the wall using the drilling template.

Step 3:  Place one dowel in each of the 6mm holes.
Step 4:  Remove the screw (10) on the outdoor station in order  

 

 

to be able to remove the front casing section 

 

from below.

Step 5:  Insert a screw into the upper hole in the wall. The  

 

 

head of the screw should stand out by 

 

approximately 3mm.

Step 6:  Hang the outdoor unit on the screw and secure the  

 

 

outdoor unit with a screw through the hold in the  

 

 

battery compartment.

Step 7:  Hang the front casing section over the rear casing and  

 

 

replace both screws (10). 

Personalise the nameplate

1.   Carefully lever the cover off the nameplate using a screwdriver.
2.   Remove the paper and write on it (e.g. your name).
3.   Replace the paper into the nameplate cover and press it with  

 

  slight pressure onto the bell push. 

Power supply to the system

The outdoor station can either be powered with 3 C cells or with a 
standard bell transformer (8V AC/ 1A).
Either insert the 3 batteries correctly into the battery compartment or 
connect the 8V from your bell transformer onto the terminal (14) on 
the back of the casing.

4.  INITIAL OPERATION

Switching the handset on

•  Slide the power switch (5) to the “ON” position.

Switching the handset off

•  Slide the power switch (5) to the “OFF” position.

Battery monitoring

a.   Outdoor speaking unit: If the battery is empty the outdoor  

 

  station will send a signal to the handset. The LED (4) on the  

 

  handset will then flash. 
b.   Handset: If the storage battery is empty the LED (2) 
  will flash rapidly.

Operation

1.  Press bell push at the external station.
2.   A melody is played for 30 seconds at the receiver, the luminous    
  surround around the talk button flashes green.
3.   Press and hold down the talk button within these 30 seconds  

 

  to speak to the visitor; the luminous surround around the talk    
  button turns red while the button is held down.
4.   Release the talk button to hear the visitor‘s response; the  

 

  luminous surround around the talk button turns green.
5.   Repeat steps 3 and 4 to have a conversation with the visitor.
6.   At the end of the conversation, press the talk button twice in  

 

  quick succession.

Notes on operation

1.   The melody plays for around 30 seconds; after this time the  

 

  receiver returns to standby mode.
2.   If, at the end of a conversation, the talk button is not pressed    
  twice in succession so as to hang up, the receiver automatically    
  enters standby mode after 20 seconds.
3.   A visitor will not be able to hear you unless you press 
  the talk button.

Selecting the receiver melody and the melody volume

1.   Turn the handset off using the switch (5).
2.   Press and hold the volume button (5.1) to increase the volume    
  and turn the handset back on using the switch (5). Keep pressing   
  the volume increase button (5.1).
3.   If the power LED lights up green release the volume 
  increase button (5.1).
4.   If you press the press to talk button (3) once, the melody that    
  is currently set will begin to play. 
5.   If you briefly press the volume increase button (5.1) the next  

 

  melody begins to play.
6.   If you briefly press the volume decrease button (5.2) this will    
  alter the volume. 3 volume levels are available.
7.   Press the press to talk button (3) on the handset briefly in order    
  to save the melody and volume as set. 

There are 8 different melodies to choose from.

Charging the storage batteries on the indoor station

1)  Connect the base station to the power adaptor.
2)   Place the handset into the base station. The LED on the base  

 

  station will light red throughout the charging process and then    
  turns green once charging is complete.  
3)  The charging process will be complete after approx. 3 hours.
