Machine Removal
Removal of the machine is basically a reversal of the attachment procedure and should be
performed on a firm level site.
The expansion vessel must always be installed on the drain line hose when the machines
hydraulic connections are disconnected
– refer to the information below.
Expansion Vessel
– Flail Head Hydraulic Circuit
The heads are provided
with an ‘expansion vessel’ to protect the hydraulic system when
the head has been removed from a machine. The expansion vessel attaches to the flail
head drain line to permit oil escape for protection of the hydraul
ic motor’s shaft seals; this
expansion vessel must always be installed on the flail head when the hydraulic hoses are
disconnected.
Machine Storage
For extended storage periods the machine should ideally be protected from the elements
in a clean dry environment. The machine should be cleaned and lubricated prior to storage
and parked in a safe stable condition.
The exposed section of the ram rod should be carefully cleaned and coated in grease to
protect the surface from contaminates; this must be subsequently removed prior to next
use of the machine.
Excessively worn or damaged components should be replaced prior to storage to ensure
the machine is fully prepared for the next seasons work.
