Temperature Controls
Dial Tempe r atu r e Cont r ols
The controls are locate d at the back left of the
refrigerator compartment.
Note
• The freezer control turns the cooling system on.
Neither section will cool if freezer control is set to
OFF.
Initial Cont r ol Settin g s
After plugging the refrigerator in,
set the controls.
• To a d just the controls, turn the
control knob to the left or right
as
d esire d .
• Set the freezer control on 4.
• Set the refrigerator control on 4.
• Let the refrigerator run at least 8
to 12 hours before a dd ing foo d .
Wa r m Cabinet Su r faces
At times, the front of the refrigerator cabinet may be
warm to the touch. This is a normal occurrence that
helps prevent moisture from con
d ensing on the
cabinet. This con d ition will be more noticeable when
you first start the refrigerator, d uring hot weather an d
after excessive or lengthy d oor openings.
A djustin g the Cont r ols
• 24 hours after a dd ing foo d , you may d eci d e that one
or both compartments shoul d be col d er or warmer. If
so, a d just the control(s) as in d icate d in the
Temperature Control Guide table below. See page 16
for instructions on checking compartment
temperature.
• Except when starting the refrigerator, d o not change
either control more than one number at a time.
• Allow 24 hours for temperatures to stabilize.
• Changing either control will have some effect on the
temperature of the other compartment.

Turn the refrigerator control
to next higher number.
Turn the refrigerator control
to next lower number.
Turn the freezer control to
next higher number.
Turn the freezer control to
next lower number.
Turn the freezer control to
OFF .
Note
• Turning freezer control to OFF stops cooling in
both compartments. It d oes not shut off power to
the refrigerator.
