Tighten Belt
Place hand in child restraint.
Firmly push child restraint down
and towards the vehicle seat
back while pulling the free end of
the belt to tighten.
It may be easier to tighten the
belt by reaching into the
Rear-
Facing Belt Path
and pulling
the free end of the belt towards
you and parallel with the belt
path as shown.

Check Belt Tightness
Hold child restraint at the belt
path with your weaker hand.
Push and pull from side to side.
It should not move more than
1 in.
(2.5 cm).
If it moves more than 1 in. (2.5 cm),
you can try:
A.
Pulling the belt tighter.
B.
Reinstalling the child restraint.
C.
Changing to a different seating location.
D.
Switching to vehicle belt installation.

often to make sure it has not

Redo the installation if the car
seat is not reclined correctly
for your child.

Secure Child in Car Seat
To properly secure your child in

Check your child’s fi t often and
make any needed adjustments to
the car seat as they grow.

You may need to place a
tightly rolled towel(s) or foam pool
noodle(s) under the front of the
base to help achieve the correct
recline.
Check often to be sure padding is
still in place and the belt is tight.
