Care Instructions
Follow these instructions to maintain the appearance and life of this barbecue.
• When finished cooking, to assist with extinguishing the charcoal/briquettes, put the lid on the barbecue. Ensure
the lid and ash catcher vents are closed.
• Use old cinders, sand or a fine water spray to help extinguish the coals.
• The fuel can take several hours to extinguish.
• When the charcoal has completely cooled down, remove all the ash. Damp ash increases rust. Remaining
charcoal/briquettes can be retained for future use.
REMEMBER:
NEVER leave a hot barbecue unattended.
Cleaning
CAUTION! To help avoid injury or damage to property, it is very important to clean and maintain your barbecue after
every use.
• To clean the grill, soak the cooking grill and tools in hot soapy water when the barbecue is completely cool as soon
as possible after use. Leaving till later to clean will make it much more difficult to remove the dried on food
particles.
• When finished cooking, never pour cold water directly on the coals to extinguish them as this may damage your
grill.
• Inspect your barbecue before every use - the barbecue should be clean and in good working order.
Storage
• Protect from severe weather conditions.
• Store in a cool dry place. Ensure it is cool and cleaned of all ash and unused fuel/coals before storage.
(See
Warnings at the start of this manual)
• A barbecue cover is recommended for protection when not in use. The barbecue must be cooled before the cover is
put in place. Covers must be removed periodically to minimize moisture build up and damage to the barbecue, as
most covers are not breathable.
WARNING
It is important to replace barbecue parts if they show signs of fatigue, corrosion or damage.
Please note:
Continuing to use an appliance which is damaged could cause injury or damage to property.
CARE AND PROTECTION OF STAINLESS STEEL SURFACES
This barbecue features stainless steel components. All stainless steel grades require a level of care and protection to
retain their appearance.
Stainless steels are not immune to corrosion and they ARE NOT maintenance-free,
contrary to popular public perception
. Stainless steels require frequent cleaning with fresh water to avoid
oxidation and other corrosive issues.
Brushed-finish stainless steel requires frequent cleaning and care, to maintain its quality of appearance. Without
adequate care it is realistic to expect that it will show signs of corrosion in time.
Protection/Cleaning of Stainless Steel Parts
After assembly, and/or cleaning it is recommended to apply a thin layer of olive oil with a clean rag, to all exposed
stainless steel areas. This should then be polished in and buffed off with another clean rag to a non-oily finish. This
process will aid protection against dirt and other corrosive contaminants, by providing a temporary food-safe shield.
The olive oil layer also makes future polishing and removal of fingerprints easier. This process should be repeated
frequently when cleaning your grill.
