Cleaning or replace the air filters
1
Disconnect the fixture from power. On each side of the head, remove the 2 screws that hold the side cover
using a Torx-20 screwdriver. Slide the cover forward to remove. Lift the filter off of the cover.
2
Clean the filters with a vacuum or compressed air, or replace them. If they are saturated with smoke residue
or other contaminants, soak them in warm soapy water and blot dry.
3
Place the filters on the covers and replace the covers.
Firmware installation
The factory installed firmware version is indicated on the serial number label. The installed firmware version
number is displayed in the control panel during power-on, during reset and under the Info/Ver menu.
Firmware updates are released when features are added.
The latest firmware is available from the support area of the Martin web site at http://www.martin.com. It can
be installed using an MP-2, or via a PC serial data link using a hardware interface supported by the
Software Uploader shareware (also available from the Martin web site). The following devices are currently
supported (in Version 5.5):
• DABS 1 (presently available with the MUM software package)
• ShowDesigner PCI DMX Interface Card (2048 channel version)
• LightJockey PCI DMX Interface Card (512 and 2048 channel versions)
• LightJockey PCMCIA DMX Interface
• LightJockey 4064 ISA DMX Interface Card (DJ and Club versions)
Note: Intermediate control systems such as the Martin Lighting Director (MLD) and the Martin Matrix must
be bypassed when updating fixture software via the DMX link. These systems do not relay the update code
correctly because it is not a DMX-compliant signal.
Requirements
Firmware is installed using one of the following hardware devices, hereafter referred to as the “Uploader”:
• Martin MP-2 Uploader
• PC using any DMX interface that supports the Software Uploader program (for example a Martin
LightJockey or DABS 1 interface)
The following are required in order to install software:
• The MAC 2000 Wash update file, available for download from the User Support Area of the Martin web site
(http://www.martin.com).
• The Software Uploader program, version 5.5 or later - supplied with the MUM, DABS1, Martin MP-2,
LightJockey, or available for download from the support pages for these products in the User Support Area
of the Martin web site.
Standard firmware installation
For guidance on preparing and using a LightJockey, MP-2 or Software Uploader refer to the user
documentation and/or online help for these products.
