Troubleshooting
The following section of this document provides commonly asked questions and solutions about
installing and using the DVD-to-Go PC card and software.
Refer to the DVD-to-Go online user’s guide for information about product features, functions,
and additional instructions for using the DVD-to-Go PC card and software.
When I insert a DVD movie into the DVD-ROM drive the movie does not
automatically play.
The software does not autoload when a DVD movie is inserted. You must insert the
DVD movie into the drive and start the DVD-to-Go software.
I can see a movie playing, but there is no audio.
It may be necessary to adjust the volume control. Double click the taskbar speaker icon.
If there is no taskbar speaker icon, go to Start, Programs, Accessories, Multimedia, (or
Entertainment in the Windows 98 environment) and highlight Volume Control.
If you are mobile (not connected to the NEC Versa Dock) ensure that the Mute box is not
checked on the IIS or Zoom Video (depending upon your model) volume slider.
If you are docked, ensure that the Select box is checked on the IIS or Zoom Video (depending
upon your model) volume slider.
When playing a DVD movie, playback is choppy causing the sound and/or video to
stutter.
If playback is choppy, try the following adjustments.
1.
Ensure that DMA is enabled.
Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel.
Double click the System icon and select the Device Manager tab.
Double click the CD-ROM icon and double click your specific DVD-ROM.
Click the Properties button and select the Settings tab.
Ensure that the DMA item is checked.
Click OK three times to exit the Device Manager.
You must reboot your system if any changes were made to the Device Manager.

Close any other programs that are running before playing a DVD movie.
