If the rectifier is used in charging a battery,
remove the M option capacitor assembly
from its edge connector on Regulator and
Circuit card A?.

The rectifier should start and deliver output
voltage within the range of 48 to
VDC.
Observe the front panel meters and indica-
tors. Verify that rectifier operation is normal
after restart.

Test Procedure 9. If. due to a prolonged AC input
power failure. the associated battery discharges to
the rectifier will be unable to restart. An
optional customer-furnished power supply permanently
connected to terminal block
enables automatic
restart in this event. If an optional auxiliary power
has
been
connected to
, a special
startup procedure is required. Perform the following
procedure to restart the rectifier in this event. This pro-
cedure will require an external
VDC power supply
capable of furnishing 10 amperes of current.

Open the two rectifier front doors by loosen-
ing the captive fasteners and pivoting the
doors outward.
Provide an external power supply adjusted
for 48 VDC and capable of 10 amperes.
Ensure that the external power supply is
turned off.
WARNING
In the next step. observe correct polarity: oth-
erwise equipment damage may occur.
Connect the external power supply to

off the auxiliary power supply and dis-
connect from the rectifier.
Close the rectifier front doors and secure by
tightening the
fasteners.
This completes the low battery
