Servicing and maintenance
We recommend that a comprehensive maintenance and in-
spection be performed at regular intervals.
Any maintenance
or adjustment work not described in this manual may be
performed only by a MAKItA service location.

Before replacing the trimmer line, always switch off the
motor and disconnect the power cable!
- Press the tab (
B/1
) and turn the housing cover (
B/2
) as far
as it will go (lug on cover (
B/3
) centredon the tabSperre).
- Take the housing cover (
B/2
) off the housing (
B/4
). Remove
the spool (
B/5
) from the housing and remove any remaining
line.
- Cut trimmer line (dia. 2 mm x 5 m, order no. 369 224 060)
to 3.6 m length.
- Pull the line through the hole on the winding ridge of the
spool until both ends are the same length. Wind the line
tightly in the direction of the arrow until only about 0 cm is
left on each end.
- Push one line end into the assembly cutout (
B/6
), wind the
other end another half-turn, and press it into the opposite
assembly cutout (
B/7
).
- Put the spool in the housing (position it so the line ends in
the assembly cutouts are lined up with the line guides). Press
the spool into the housing and lead the line ends through
the guides (
B/8
), and pull on each line end so it comes out
of the assembly cutout.
- Put the housing cover (
B/2
) on, with the lug on the cover
(
B/3
) again centred on the tab (
B/1
), press lightly and turn
clockwise until you hear it click in.
