Installation preparation
6.1 Wall, ceiling or bracket
Notes
●
Any installation position. IP X4 only when
installed in ducts with at least 1 m of duct
on the suction and pressure sides.
●
Only install on walls, ceilings or brackets
with sufficient load-bearing capacity.
CAUTION
Danger of injury caused by
inadequate mounting of the
duct fan.
Make sure you use mounting
material, which is sized for the
purpose.
Decide on the installation location.
Lay a permanent power cable to the
installation location.
6.2 Duct preparation
Notes
●
Folded spiral-seams ducts with a diameter
250 mm to 710 mm are approved, depen-
ding on the unit type.
●
Only use folded spiral-seams ducts that
match the nominal diameter.
●
Connect the ducting to the duct fan using
flexible cuffs, e.g. Maico EL.., in order to
prevent the transmission of vibrations to
the duct system.
●
Install an air filter, e.g. Maico TFE.. if
operating the unit in a dusty environment.

Assembly
7.1 Installation
NOTICE
Faulty operation and unit
damage caused by a rubbing
impeller [1] with incorrect
installation.
Do not twist the duct fan during
installation.
As far as possible, install the duct fan
such that there is no transfer of
vibrations to the duct system, e.g. by
using Maico EL.. flexible cuffs and
vibration dampers.
Depending on the installation position,
the duct fan is used for air extraction
or ventilation. See air direction arrow
on the rating plate.
Make sure there is a level surface at the
installation location.
Mark the positions of the 4 holes. Refer to
the mounting foot [9] for the hole distances.
Drill the holes.
Bolt or screw the duct fan to the wall/
ceiling/bracket at the mounting foot using
suitable mounting material to be supplied
by the customer.
Recommended installation position:
With mounting foot [9] at the bottom.
Secure duct fan with lock nuts of a suffi-
cient dimension. For example, fitted with
suitable pipe clamps or on bracket
(U-shaped profile) (with threaded rods and
lock nuts).
