Step 5: Setting up notifications
The fifth step in the Course Wizard is to set up course notifications. A course notification is an e-
mail sent to all course enrollees, informing them that they have been enrolled in the course and
telling them how to access the course. When you set up a course notification e-mail, you set the
notification timing (when the e-mail is sent to enrollees) and the e-mail subject and message. You
can use runtime fields in the subject line and in the body of the message. The runtime fields are
course information variables that are automatically filled in for you when the e-mail is sent.
Note:
You can change the course notifications any time after the course is created. For more
information, see
“Changing settings for course notifications” on page 77
.
To set up course notifications:
1.
On the Set Up Notification page, select the radio button for the notification timing you want.

Select the radio button for the recipients that you want to receive the notifications.
3.
Edit the e-mail subject and message as you want, using any of the runtime fields.
