3.10 Upgradeability and Peripheral Port

The Solo peripheral port is a connector that supports future expansion and is visible and
accessible to the left of the card guide when the meter case is opened.

The peripheral port is reserved for possible future use. This peripheral port connector has
the necessary interface signals as well as industry standard serial communications
interfaces, to support future add-on equipment.
3)
The serial interface allows the meters to potentially communicate with MacKay support
equipment to re-program the meters, change rates, etc., using a direct connection
process. Two-way data transfer is possible, initiated by either the Solo or the hardware
attached to the peripheral port.
