Adjust Tension on Gearbox Drive Chain
T he chain inside the gearbox has been tensioned at the factory and requires
no other m aintenance other than to adjust the tension every 500 hours or
annually. T o adjust chain tension follow these steps:
1.
Low er header, stop engine, and rem ove key.
2.
R em ove chain adjusting cover (A ). B e sure gasket (B ) is not
dam aged.
3.
R em ove retainer plate (C ).
4.
T ighten bolt (D ) to 60 in lbf (6.8 N m ) and then back off bolt by
1 and 2/3 turns.
5.
R einstall retainer plate (C ).
6.
R einstall chain adjusting cover (A ) and gasket (B ). T orque
hardw are to 84 in lbf (9.5 N m ).

A- Reel Shaft RH bearing (1 Place)
B- Reel Center Bearing (1 Place)
C- Wheel Bearings (4 Places)
D- Reel Shaft LH Bearing (1 Place)
