CASE COOL

The case cool option uses the same compressed air source as the blow back

option. A temperature sensor inside the MAC155 Probe operates a solenoid

valve that releases air into the case of the probe. The hot air inside the case is

expelled through a vent to maintain the internal temperature at a safe level.

The MAC155 Probe is rated for a maximum ambient air temperature of

130ºF, with no radiation from a hot stack or duct, and with no direct mid-day

sunlight.

If the probe is mounted near hot surfaces or in direct sunlight, the case cool

option should be implemented.

This option requires the user to supply a source of 10 psi (69kPa)

clean, dry

and

oil free

air into the 0.170” barbed hose fitting on the MAC155 case, see

figure 3.

FILTER BLOW BACK

The MAC155 Probe is protected from particle build up by a 10 micron filter

element. This option allows air to be injected into the barrel to clean the filter.

The blow back option can eliminate the need to manually clean the filter by

passing a burst of air in the reverse direction through the filter.

This option requires the user to supply a source of 10 psi (69kPa)

clean, dry

and

oil free

air into the 0.170” barbed hose fitting on the MAC155 case, see

figure 3.

A burst of one second duration is sufficient to clean the filter. The cleaning

burst occurs automatically when ever the MAC155 is placed in the calibration

check mode.
