Taking the Temperature of a Person:
1.
Press and release the
(Power) button to turn the unit on.
2.
To measure the temperature of a person, press the
button.
3.
Press and hold the ‘SCAN’ button while aiming the lens of the
thermometer approximately 2” to 3” away from the forehead.
The screen should appear like

NOTE:
Always measure the temperature on the forehead.
4.
While continuing to press the ‘SCAN’ button,
slowly move the thermometer toward or away
from the measurement site until the
thermometer is continuously beeping and the
LED light flashes,

. The ‘beeping’ indicates that the distance required
for the measurement is correct. Once the
thermometer is consistently and continuously
beeping, release the ‘SCAN’ button.

. The thermometer will beep once and show the
temperature reading,

The display will
illuminate with Nite-Glo
®
technology for 3 seconds.
NOTE:
A happy face symbol
will appear on the display if the
temperature is below 100.4°F (38°C). If the temperature reading is
above 100.4°F (38°F), a sad face symbol
will appear.
If the temperature is outside of the thermometer’s sensory range, ‘Lo’ or ‘Hi’ will
appear on the display. If however, the temperature is outside of the thermometers
permissible measurement range, ‘Err’ will appear on the display.
7.
Thermometer will automatically beep and shut-off after approximately
one minute of non-use.
8.
Clean lens with an alcohol swab or soft cotton swab moistened
with alcohol.
NOTE:
To ensure accuracy:
•
Please wait at least 1 minute between successive readings.
•
Clean the probe lens before and after each use.
– Measurements taken with the RediScan™ Infrared Thermometer are
comparable to oral readings.
– Never leave a child or infant unattended with a thermometer.
– It is possible for the elderly, infants under 3 months of age and those with
compromised immune systems or other medical conditions not to have an
elevated temperature even when they are ill. Consult with your healthcare
professional in instances where an illness is detected without a fever present.
