Smoke Deflectors
The Chapelon Pacifics are supplied with removable smoke deflectors. The smoke
deflectors are package separately for transportation. To install the smoke deflectors,
carefully hook the upper supports of the smoke deflector to the handrail on the
smoke box (shown below). Then slide the U-shaped clips onto the running board
to hold the smoke deflectors in place. When the smoke deflector is properly aligned
the lead edge should fit into the notch in the front of the running board.
Fleche D'Or Train Sign
Included in the packaging is a replica of the train sign that was mounted on the
smoke box front when the engine was pulling the Fleche D'Or (Gold Arrow). The
sign can be easily clipped to the front plate on the smokebox front is desired.
