Thank you for choosing MEG from LVI. We are certain you will be
very pleased with your new radiator and find it extremely useful.

1.Installation

Diagram 1.The wall brackets supplied are securely fixed in position
on the wall using the enclosed screws. The brackets should be posi-
tioned approx. 10 - 15 cm from each end of the radiator. Note that
the brackets can be used to measure the height.

Diagram 2.

It is important to mount the radiator vertically in order

for it to function correctly. The connector housing should be posi-
tioned as per diagram 2 and the minimum distance specified there
should be carefully observed. The radiator must not be positioned
directly underneath a fixed wall socket or in a position where a per-
son using a bathtub, shower or swimming pool can come into con-
tact with live parts, e.g. the switch.

Diagram 3.

When the radiator is delivered with a terminal box and

a 5-pole plug, it should be connected by a suitably qualified electri-
cian. The terminal box is best positioned behind the radiator. The
terminal box has break-off openings for a conduit box, wiring tubes
and an external cable. Please refer to the wiring diagram on the ter-
minal box lid for the connection of the radiator.

Diagram 4.

The enclosed plastic hook can be fitted to the wall to

coil up any surplus cable, refer to diagram 4A. It is very impor tant
that the plug is pushed fully into position in the terminal box, refer
to diagram 4B.

The top of the wall bracket can be pulled up and locked in its top
position to make it easier to mount the radiator, refer to diagram
4C. Make sure that the top of the bracket is securely fitted into the
slots in the frame.

Note!

When the model designation ends with a P, the radiator is

delivered with an earthen plug and should then be connected to an
existing wall socket. Centrally controlled temperature reduction and
slave connections cannot be  used in this version.

2. Slave coupling

The MEG radiator can control another radiator in what is known
as a master/slave radiator installation. The total output that the mas-
ter radiator can regulate is 2300 W. Slave radiators are connected
as per the wiring diagram on the terminal box lid or diagram 3.
The master radiator’s thermostat regulates the heat generated by
the connected radiators.

The MEG radiator can also be connected for use as a slave radia-
tor, e.g. when used by a central control system. The radiator is con-
nected on terminal blocks 2 and 4 in the terminal box.The thermo-
stat is then by-passed and is not in operation.

3.Temperature reduction

With the MEG radiator, the temperature set by the thermostat dial
can be reduced either manually or automatically. The dial should be
set on the      or the       to select the preferred method of lower-
ing the temperature. No special connection is required in the ter-
minal box if the manual      option is used.
A control conductor must be connected on terminal block 3 in the
terminal box for the automatic      option. It might be best to let a
central timer regulate all the radiators in a building.
The control conductor must be connected so that it receives N
potential when a temperature reduction is required (controlled N
conductor).
If you do not want to use a timer control, a permanently connec-
ted N conductor can be used instead of the control conductor.
Temperature reduction is then connected/disconnected by turning
the dial from 0 to the required reduction temperature for the times
when you want a lower temperature and when it should return to
normal again.

It is important that the phase and N conductor are correctly con-
nected.

4. Operation

Diagram 5.

There is a switch for turning the radiator on and off at

the top of the control section, inside the transparent cover. The radi-
ator comes on when the switch is turned to position I.
Refer to diagram 5A.

The thermostat dial below the switch is used to set the required
room temperature. The temperatures on the thermostat are gra-
ded at intervals of 5°C, from 10°C to 30°C. At the lowest setting
(maximum anticlockwise) a temperature of no less than 7°C gives
anti-frost protection. When the green light is on, this indicates that
the radiator is generating heat.
Refer to diagram 5B.

The dial below the thermostat dial is for selecting a temperature
reduction option. The dial has the following setting options:

= no temperature reduction. The temperature is the one set

on the thermostat dial, even if control equipment is set for reduc-
tion.

= temperature is constantly lowered by -4°C in relation to the

temperature set on the thermostat dial (although never lower than
the frost protection temperature).

= temperature reduction is automatically switched on and off

by control equipment. Controlled by separate control conductor.
The reduction temperature can be set between 0°C and -15°C by
turning the dial to the required temperature reduction. The tempe-
rature is indicated on a scale. The anti-frost protection temperature
(7°C) is the lowest possible room temperature. Refer to diagram
5C.

The radiator’s maximum surface temperature can be set using the
lower dial. The dial is like a screwdriver control with settings N and
L. A red arrow on the dial indicates the chosen setting. At setting N,
the radiator’s surface temperature reaches a maximum of 80°C. At
setting L, the surface temperature reaches a maximum of 60°C.With
the dial set at L, 50% of the thermal energy is obtained from the
radiator compared to when the dial is set at N.This should be taken
into consideration when rating the power dimensioning. Refer to
diagram 5D.

Diagram 6.

The transparent cover over the dials can be locked to prevent the
radiator controls being tampered with, refer to diagram 6.

5. Care

A mild detergent should be used if the radiator needs wiping down
or cleaning.

6.Other

Overtemperature control of the radiator is facilitated by a cut-out
if the radiator becomes too hot. The radiator is reset by switching
off for about 15 minutes. If the radiator repeatedly disconnects, check
that no par ts of the radiator- are covered. Otherwise contact the
manufacturer or a suitably qualified electrician.
“Do not cover” means that the radiator must not be used for drying
clothes, for example, by placing them directly on the radiator.

This radiator is filled with an exact amount of environmentally fri-
endly vegetable oil. Any repairs that require the radiator to be ope-
ned should therefore only be carried out by the manufacturer or
its approved agent. Please contact the manufacturer or its approved
agent in the event of a leakage.

A securing plate is available as an accessory for securing the wall
bracket.

The radiator is currently backed by a 2-year warranty. Please con-
tact the manufacturer or an authorised electrician if you have any
problems or need any repair work to be carried out.
