OLYMPIA MAX TECHNOLOGY:
The Olympia Max is a highly efficient solar street light with high capacity LiFePO4 Lithium batteries and a fast charging
Monocrystalline solar panel. This means that even on partially cloudy and rainy days, it will re-charge efficiently. The high battery
capacity gives enough power for up to 30+ Hours.
The 2200 lumen light output is bright enough to illuminate driveways,
entrances, car parks and paths, with a downward spread light projection, making them safe to navigate at night.
In particularly long periods of dull weather, illumination time is likely to be affected. To boost charge, turn the light off for 1-2
nights which will result in the light charging but not illuminating. Then turn the light back on as normal.
INSTALLATION:
Recommended mounting height for UK solar street lighting is 3-5m.
Location
–
It is important that the installation location is carefully considered, avoiding shady areas. Ensure there is no other
lights which could interfere with the light, imitating daylight and forcing the light off.
1.
Unscrew the 4 x socket screws on the collar of the solar light with a 4mm allen key. Do not
fully remove the screws, simply loosen until the screws are clear from inside the collar to allow
the light to slot onto the post.
2.
Place the Solar Street Light Head onto the 76mm lamp post / adaptor.
3.
Ensure the solar light is in the correct position and is fully aligned with the post.
4.
Re-tighten the 4 x socket screws in step 1 to lock the solar light into place on the lamp post /
adaptor.
TIP: Tighten each screw a little bit at a time to keep the post central.
SETTINGS:
The Olympia Max has a pre-set time controlled setting which cannot be changed. At dusk (or below 15 lux), the light will
illuminate at full brightness, and then follow a gradual dimming sequence until it reaches 20% brightness after 7 hours. From then
on it will remain at 20% until dawn (or above 15 lux). If the battery percentage reaches 10%, the light will dim down to 10%
brightness. If the battery charge is exhausted, the light will turn off. This sequence is to ensure maximum charge is retained.
USEFUL INFORMATION: THE SOLAR STREET LIGHT CAN STILL CHARGE IF TURNED OFF.
Turning on the solar street light
1)
Remove the waterproof rubber bung located on the black rim just above the polycarbonate
lens, marked
‘ON/OFF. This will reveal the
black on/off button.
2)
Using an allen key (or similar), push the on button inwards until it clicks and allow to pop back
out (this will be partial). The solar street light is now in the ON position.
3)
Replace the waterproof, rubber bung.
4)
To turn off for storage or to boost charge, repeat the same procedure as above. When off, the
button will pop out fully.
NOTE:
There is a 2-5 second delay between turning the solar light on, and the light illuminating. In
daylight, the light will turn back off within a few seconds, in darkness it will remain on and follow the time-controlled cycle. If
unsure, cover the solar panel to check if the fitting turns on.
STORAGE:
When storing the solar light, be sure to turn the light to the off position by following the above steps (check by covering and
uncovering the solar panel). Once pressed, the on/off button will release fully forward. Maximum 6 months storage when fully
charged
–
recharge will be required periodically to prevent damage to battery over long periods of time.
