9. Using an Extension Cable
.
a) If an extension cable is required, use an
approved triple core extension cable suitable for
the power input of the tool.
b) Grounded tools always require a three wire
extension cable.
c) As the distance from the supply outlet
increases you must use a heavier gauge
extension cable. Using extension cables with
inadequately sized wire causes a serious drop in
voltage, resulting in loss of power and possible
tool damage.
d) The smaller the gauge number of the wire the
greater the capacity of the cord.
e) When using a cable reel, always unwind the
cable completely.
