Troubleshooting the camera using the 2dBi antenna
There can be two reasons why the camera would not transmit any signal. Either the camera
is not supplied with power and does not work accordingly, or the camera is supplied with
power but the signal cannot be received by the LCD-monitor due to obstacles, interferences or
incorrect channel selection etc.
If the power is correctly connected, the IR-LEDs around the lens will glow with a red light when
the camera is placed in pitch-black surroundings. Cup your hands around the lens or bring the
camera to a dark room to inspect if the IR-LEDs glow.
No picture at all (black)
Possible error
• The camera is not supplied with power (the
IR-LEDs do not glow in the dark).
No picture (black & white interference)
Possible error
• You have not set the correct channel on the
LCD-monitor.
• The camera is supplied with power (the IR-
LEDs glow in the dark) but you still receive
no picture.
Possible error
• The distance is too great and/or obstacles
are interfering between the camera and the
LCD-monitor.
• The camera frequency is being interfered by
other equipment or is not optimally set.
Action
• Make sure that correct power (12V) adaptor
is used.
• Make sure that the 220V wall socket works.
• Make sure that the joints are carefully put
together. Further make sure that the power
cable is not broken or pinched.
Action
• Chose the same channel as the transmitting
channel of the camera (1-4).
• Make sure that the antenna (2dBi) is
thoroughly attached to the back of the
camera, further make sure that you have the
correct channel set on the LCD-monitor.
Action
• Move closer to the camera (approx. 1m) with
the LCD monitor and then start moving away
from the camera to find out what obstacle or
distance that cause the problem.
• Change the camera frequency (see 14).
