Battle Ax OM
Tooth Removal and Installation
DANGER:
Shut down and lock out power
from the excavator before removing and
installing any cutting teeth. Failure to do so
could result in serious injury or death.

Remove the bolt (1) and tooth (2).
Use copper based anti-seize when reinstalling the bolts.
Torque to 240 ft.-lbs.
IMPORTANT
: When a damaged tooth is replaced, the
tooth directly opposite (180 degrees)
must be replaced at the same time to
retain balance.
Belt Tension Adjustment
DANGER:
Shut down and lock out power
from the excavator before adjusting the drive
belt. Failure to do so could result in serious
injury or death.
Remove the belt cover. Refer to “Removing Belt Cover
and Access Covers” on page 18 for instructions.

Slightly loosen the four overhung load adapter (OHLA)
support bolts (1).
Turn the two bolts (2) for the adjustment brackets equally.
Clockwise
to increase belt tension.
Counterclockwise
to decrease belt tension.
3/8 in.
1/2 in.
Belt should move no more than 3/8 in. (9.5 mm) to the
outside, and no more than 1/2 in. (12.7 mm) to inside
when pressure applied at the midpoint.
Retighten the four overhung load adapter support bolts.
Return the belt cover to its position; insert and tighten
all bolts.
