23 Bad Ax Disc Mulcher OM

Disc Removal
IMPORTANT
: The Bad Ax must be disconnected from
the loader for this procedure.
DANGER: Crushing Hazard. Failure to safely
secure and lift the Bad Ax could result in
severe injury or death. Use a power hoist and
allow only trained personnel to lift the Bad Ax.

Use the hoist and chains (1) to lift and flip the Bad Ax on
its motor cover as shown, making sure it is stable and
secure for this procedure.
NOTE: The hoist/lifting device and chains or strap must
be in good condition and of adequate size to lift
the Bad Ax.
CAUTION: The teeth on the disc are sharp.
Wear gloves during this procedure to avoid
getting cut while handling the disc.
Insert 3/4" eyebolts (not supplied) (2) into two of the holes
opposite from one another on the underside of the disc.
Connect chains or straps (3) to the eyebolts.
Use a 5/8" Allen head wrench and remove the ten bolts
(4) securing the disc to the drive.
Reverse process to reinstall the disc.
Storage
End of Season
• Clean entire disc mulcher thoroughly.
• Lubricate all parts of the machine. See “Lubrication”
on page 19.
• Make a list of all worn or damaged parts and replace
them.
• Paint all parts that are worn or rusted.
• Store disc mulcher in a clean, dry area.
• Review the disc mulcher operator’s manual.
• Secure hydraulic hoses in storage position. See
“Hydraulic Hose Storage” on page 18.
Beginning of the Season
• Review the disc mulcher operator’s manual.
• Lubricate all parts of the machine. See “Lubrication”
on page 19.
• Tighten all bolts, nuts, and set screws. See “Torque
Specifications” on page 47.
• Replace all damaged, worn or missing decals.
• Install the disc mulcher on a loader and test the disc
mulcher for proper operation.
