Back Up Contacts and Calendar Items from Another
Bluetooth Enabled Device
If another Bluetooth enabled device uses a Personal Information Manager (PIM) application, you can
back up the Contacts and Calendar items from that device to your computer. Backups can be restored
to the device to recover lost data, or can be transferred from the computer to another Bluetooth
device.
1.
If you have not already done so, add the other Bluetooth enabled device that has the contacts and
calendar data that you want to back up (see

).
2.
Double-click the Bluetooth icon
in the taskbar notification area. Double-click the icon for the
device, or right-click the icon and select
Control
.

Under
Device Type

Backup and Synchronization
, click
Back up Contacts
and Calendar from
the

to my computer

4.In
Select Backup Items
, click
Back Up Selected Items
to accept the default selections.

If you want to back up contacts but not calendar items (or vice versa), clear the check box for the
item that you do not want to back up, and then click
Back Up Selected Items
.
A progress bar displays to indicate the status of the backup. When completed, the message “Backup
Successful” displays.
NOTE:
You may have to authorize backing up calendar and contact items on the Bluetooth
device.
Restore the Backed-Up Contacts and Calendar Items of
Another Bluetooth Enabled Device
If you have backed up the Contacts and Calendar items from another Bluetooth enabled device to your
computer, you can later restore the backed-up folders to the other device.

If you have not already done so, add the other Bluetooth enabled device to which you want to
restore the backed-up Contacts and Calendar items (see

).

Double-click the Bluetooth icon
in the taskbar notification area. Double-click the icon for the
device, or right-click the icon and select
Control
.
