Section 3: Using the bili-hut™
NOTE:
Before starting treatment, complete the following
steps:

3.2 Operating the bili-hut™
NOTE: Fill out the top section of the
bili-hut™ Home Record Sheet .
NOTE:
Blue light can hinder clinical observations by masking
skin color changes, such as cyanosis.
Cyanosis occurs when a person has poor circulation or is not
receiving enough oxygen, resulting in blue discoloration of
the person’s skin.
WARNING DO NOT put any creams or lotions on your
baby’s skin before or during treatment. Doing
so could change the effectiveness of the
phototherapy, resulting in less treatment for
your baby than desired.
CAUTION DO NOT place items in the assembled hut
or nest that could alter or lift your baby’s
position. Keeping your baby flat on the nest
mattress
provides the best possible treatment
for your baby and prevents suffocation or
over-heating of your baby.
