Editing
1.
On the Edit menu, press
to select ‘Erase’, then
press
ENTER
.

Press
ENTER
to confirm your setting.
The title selected will be erased.
3.
To erase another title, start playing back of the titles
you would like to erase and repeat step 1 to 2. To exit
the setting, select ‘Exit’, then press
ENTER
.
4.
After you complete the process, a deleted title will be
shown on the disc menu, if you use a DVD+RW or
DVD-RW disc.

If you switch on the function, a lock icon will be shown
next to the protected title on the disc menu.

Overwriting a Title
This function is applicable to titles saved on rewritable
DVD discs only.
When you apply the function to a title, it will be
deleted and overwritten when you record new title/pro-
gram next time.

On the Edit menu, press
to select ‘Overwrite’,
then press
ENTER
to switch on or off the ‘Overwrite’
function.

To exit the setting, select ‘Exit’, then press
ENTER
.
3.
If you switch on the function, a pen icon will be shown
next to the overwritten title on the disc menu.

After the ‘Overwrite’ function is switched on, new
recording will be saved in the slot previously occupied
by the overwritten title. If the new program lasts lon-
ger than the old one, it will be recorded continuously.
To prevent accidental erasure, it is suggested that you
activate the ‘Protect’ function for the title immediately
following the overwritten one.
Available recording time shown for the overwritten
slot may not be exact, as it is likely to be affected by
the recording mode of the overwritten title.

Erasing a Title
Once a title is erased, it
CANNOT
be retrieved.
Please note that applying the ‘Erase’ function to
DVD-R and DVD+R discs will not free up disc space
already used.
