Clean com mu ta tor with LiteBrite pad (ev ery 6 to 10 flights)
•
Check length of brushes, re place if less than 3/16” (5mm) long (ev ery 10 flights)
•
Check color of brushes, re place if blue or black (ev ery 10 flights)
•
Oil mo tor shaft bush ings with Lite Lube oil (ev ery 20 flights)
•
Check for com mu ta tor wear, and re place ar ma ture if nec es sary (ev ery 20 flights)
•
Check for dam aged con nec tors and bro ken power ca bles (ev ery 30 flights)
•
Check pin ion gear for wear and re place if nec es sary (ev ery 50 flights)
Radio Maintenance
Transmitter

Watch power me ter when fly ing (NiCad bat ter ies lose ca pac ity with age, and will grad -
u ally lose charge if un used for sev eral days)

Wipe clean oc ca sion ally us ing soft pa per towel and glass cleaner (when nec es sary)

Ob serve bat tery charg ing in struc tions (do not over charge)
•
Do not ex pose to ex treme tem per a tures
Airborne System
•
Range check be fore fly ing (ev ery fly ing day)
•
Check for loose/miss ing servo mount ing screws (ev ery 30 flights)
•
Check servo travel (ev ery 30 flights, ser vos should move smoothly)
•
Check servo speed (ev ery 30 flights, ser vos should move quickly to max i mum throw -
slug gish re sponse may in di cate a low bat tery, bind ing link ages or bad am pli fier)
•
Check wir ing for cracks or chaf ing of the in su la tion (ev ery 30 flights, es pe cially where
rub bing on struc ture)

Check plug con nec tions for loos en ing, and oil or dirt con tam i na tion (ev ery 30 flights)

Keep all com po nents free of oil
