04.4 STOPPING THE ENGINE

1. On engines not fitted with a fuel control solenoid, turn

the engine control anti-clockwise to the ‘STOP’ position
and hold it there until the engine comes to rest.

After the engine has stopped turn the start key, if
fitted, to the OFF position.

  CAUTION

Turning the start key to the ‘OFF’ position will not stop the
engine unless an optional fuel control solenoid is fitted.

2. On engines fitted with a fuel control solenoid turn the

key to the 'OFF' position.

  CAUTION

Never stop the engine by operating the decompressor
lever or valve damage may occur.
