Removing Coolant:
a.Draincoolantfromthereservoirusingcleansiphon-
ingequipment
b.Coolantlevelshouldbedrainedbelowthestrainer-
pressurefitting:
•This prevents coolant from streaming out of unit
whenstrainernutisremoved
SERvICE THE PUMPS INLET STRAINER:
a.Place absorbent towels underneath pump head to
preventstraycoolantfromwettingcooler’selectrical
components.
b.See figure 7. Hold pump head to apply counter
torquewhenlooseningstrainer’s7/8acornnut.Do
not confuse with 3/4 acorn nut. Remove nut and
slideinletstrainerdownandoutfrompumphead.
c.Inspectstrainerfordamageorexcessiveclogging:
•Replace or Gently rinse strainer under running
watertothoroughlycleanit.
d.Useamirrortoinspectinsideofpumpforcontami-
nation.Ifhardeneddebrisispresentandinterferes
with filter seating, carefully remove it with dental
pick without scratching inside of the pump. Use
carenottodropdebrisintopump.
e.Reinstall strainer and acorn nut, tightening with
34±15mm-Kilograms(75±15in.-lbs.)oftorque.
•Hold pump head to apply counter-torque when
looseningstrainers7/8acornnut.
f.Wipe dry all areas wetted by coolant. Dispose of
towelsinanenvironmentallyresponsiblemanner.
Add coolant:
a.Add7.6ltr.(2gal.)ofcoolant,eithertherecommen-
dations off the water cooled accessory or if none,
see the design specification summary listed in this
manual.
ADDITIONAL SERvICE NOTES:
1.Alwaysuseaback-upwrenchonpumpheadwhen
looseningortighteningpumpfittings.
2.neverrunthepumpdry.Alwaysusearecommend-
edcoolant,otherwisepumpdamagemayresult.
3. Flush coolant from system and replace with
fresh, recommended coolant at least once a
year. More frequent flushing may be necessary,
depending upon the user’s particular system or
its usage, especially if it is prone to clogging
from biological growth in the coolant.
